We believe that it is very important in your first transaction that you have a settlement agent who will “hold your hand” to ensure that you understand the whole process.

Here at WestCoast Conveyancing we understand that settlements can be daunting with all the paperwork you receive. We are available at all times for you to ask any questions you need to and make you feel comfortable with the process. The offer & acceptance contract, once signed, becomes a legally binding contract so it is important to get it right.

The Department of Commerce offers separate benefits to First Homeowners.

There is an established scheme named the “Homebuyers Assistance Account” which provides First Homeowners with financial support. The scheme is funded from interest paid on real estate agents trust accounts. The grant can be used for registration fees, solicitor and/or conveyancing fees, valuation fees, inspection fees, establishment fees, mortgage insurance premiums and lending institution fees associated with lodging the application.

For details on your eligibility for the Grant and to download an application form visit the Department of Commerce.

Feel free to contact one of our friendly conveyancers at anytime to answer any further questions you may have regarding writing up the contract or the settlement process.

When it comes time to appointing a settlement agent it is important to remember that they will be handling perhaps one of your biggest assets, so you want someone who is going to look after your best interest and provide you with outstanding service.
